DaVinci's "The Last Supper" Dramatization

DaVinci's "The Last Supper" Dramatization

Leonardo da Vinci was truly one of the greatest geniuses of the Renaissance period (c.A.D. 1400-1600) if not of all human history.  Da Vinci invented the first helicopter, parachute and submarine, but he is best remembered for his painting.  Our play centers around his masterpiece, “The Last Supper.”  While he could have used a number of events that took place during that moving and memorable evening he chose to freeze a moment of highest drama—Jesus’ announcement of His betrayal.  The disciples are shown by da Vinci in groups of 3.  Each disciple is caught in his own special moment:  Matthew in shock, John listening to Peter.  Andrew in horror, and so on.  In this living dramatization you will share a moment of anguish, puzzlement and reflection as each responds with his own personal thoughts to Jesus’ statement: “One of you will betray Me!”
